12/9/2023 0 Comments Devour frozen meals suiza review![]() (To be fair, pepperoni-lovers might be more at home with Devour’s Three Way Pepp Pizza.)Īnother strange thing about this pizza is that the sauce has an almost-BBQ-like flavor to it. Obviously, Team Sausage was very enthusiastic about the amount of sausage here, while Team Pepp felt like they got the short end of the stick. We’re divided on this because some Freezer Meal Frenzy staffers prefer sausage to pepperoni, while others prefer pepperoni to sausage. ![]() Because of that, the meat selection seems skewed heavily in favor of the sausage. Now, there’s pepperoni here, but it’s in the diced cube form and not the classic round slices. Most importantly, they left off the traditional slices of pepperoni. In fact, Devour’s Italian Sausage Lasagna is one of the best frozen lasagnas out there. It’s not the worst thing in the world, but it definitely prevents this dish from reaching its true potential.Įven without the pasta issue, we prefer the Alfredo Lasagna with Bacon & Sausage to this frozen meal. While the middles were fine, we found the edges to be a little off-putting. Now, the one component that didn’t quite live up to our high expectations was the pasta. ![]() It tastes incredible, and has that perfectly stretchy consistency that every good lasagna dreams of. The proverbial icing on this Italian cake is the mozzarella cheese. The spiciness didn’t hit right away, but it’s definitely there. They have a rich, spicy flavor to them - in fact, we found our sinuses clearing out a bit as we ate. The sausage is shaped into balls, but their not quite as big as what you’d find on a pizza. This marinara sauce is also nice and thick - you won’t find a soupy mess at the bottom of the tray when you’re done eating, like some of the lesser lasagna dishes we’ve tried. While we typically prefer sweeter red sauces, this one is a good match for the sausage and an even better match for the ricotta cheese. The sauce isn’t as sweet as, say, Lean Cuisine’s. It’s also got 600 calories (200 from fat), so it isn’t exactly a snack or a diet food.īut either way, this lasagna is absolutely worth the wait. So this might not be a dish you’ll want to reach for when you’re extremely hungry.īut on the other hand, it’s a hearty meal, and you’ll feel its weight when you pull it out of the freezer at your local grocery store. That’s a total of eight minutes of microwave time, plus all the time you’ll have to let it cool afterward, which is a good five minutes or so - it comes out of the microwave piping hot. You’ll need to microwave for four minutes, then remove the film and microwave for four more. Now, we should warn you that this frozen meal has a particularly long cook time. This is a a bit more traditional than Devour’s Lasagna Alfredo with Bacon & Sausage, but it’s quite good. But today we’re not trying another mac and cheese instead we’re diving into Devour’s Italian Sausage Lasagna. Their macaroni dishes are especially divine, so be sure to check those out. It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of Devour’s frozen food.
